X Games was seeking proven strategies to engage new and existing fans around X Games California 2023.

X Games partnered with Visa Web3 Solution, powered by SmartMedia Technologies, to launch a Web3 loyalty program – acquiring and engaging fans through gamified experiences.

Web3 loyalty redefines the value exchange between fans and brands. X Games offered rewards from both itself and partners – such as VIP access to events and branded merchandise – which fans could redeem in the X Games marketplace.

Users were incentivized to engage with the brand and key sponsors, from following socials to watching videos and sharing with friends to earn more entries in a gamified giveaway. Users designed a personalized membership badge using AI, unlocking unique rewards. Prize Drops were released across the venue. When users picked up tokens, they tapped to reveal rewards.

Leveraging a few of the building blocks of Web3 utility, X Games achieved flexible campaign goals: acquiring new members and engaging them through gamified experiences.
